Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadie in Neighbours, has become a spokesman for
Christian Blind Mission International (CBMI).
CBMI is an independent Christian development organisation dedicated to preventing and curing blindness, as well as to the education and rehabilitation of people who are blind or have other disabilities.
A new ad featuring Ryan appeared on Channel Ten this morning. It may appear again in ad breaks during Neighbours.

Here is an article all about it which is in the TV Week, so here it is:
No one in the Philippines knows Ryan Moloney as Toadie from Neighbours-but they've still got a reason to love him. Ryan visited the Philippines recently for the 10,000 Miracles campaign, which aims to restore sight to 10,000 blind people.
On the island of Negros, Ryan met 10-year-old Marie-Kris who had been blind since birth. He was there as she had the 15minute cataract operation, and he was there afterwards when she opened her eyes to see for the first time.
"It was a privilege to take this little girl's hand and show her sunlight for the first time in her life," says Ryan.
Fifty million people in the world are blind, and 90% of those live in developing countries. "The thing about being disadvantaged in the particular way is that if you're poor, it's bad, but if you can't get an education and a job, then you're even worse off," says Ryan.
Fortunately, for half the world's blind people, their sight can be restored with a simple and inexpensive operation, like the one Marie-Kris had. The Christian Blind Mission International is hoping to raise enough money during October for 10,000 cataract operations at $27 each.
"It's a really worthwhile cause," says Ryan." "You pay your $27 and you are giving somebody their sight back."
