Okay so I can't take it any longer not being able to talk about Delta's career in the USA. 2010 has now rung in, and we need to start talking about all of the things that could lie ahead for Delta in the USA.

I personally am very excited about getting back to doing things from 2 years ago. Staying up til the wee hours in the morning so I could buy Delta's single on Itunes as soon as it came out and talking about it on here. Watching Delta's album be put on Itunes and see it reach top numbers. Going to a retail store and being able to pick up a physical copy of her album. Then of course if promoting her through VH1. I have been craving to use Ghostmouse for the longest time, and hopefully I'll be using it soon.

But since Delta's last release alot of things have happened to help us promote her, and things she has done to promote herself. Alot of people tell me that they see Delta on ProActive on TV and I see her myself. Andrea's tour and the meet up with Foster who has made people really big in the music industry. And then there is the possible voice over that we have been talking about here. And since then facebook groups have became popular as well as the creation of Twitter.

I am really excited about this year for Delta. I have a feeling so much is going to happen this year and it is going to make her big in the USA. Wow this has been my longest post on here in awhile. I'm hoping talking about this will get me back in the swing of getting on here smile.gif
Innocent-Gurl_009
You guys in the US have actually been very loyal to Delta. smile.gif I believe she will return to the US bigger and better than ever with the next album. I predict around mid 2011 for her to start promoting there again, but it depends on when the album is released.

Good thread.

Ah you're moving to NYC? Permanently? You'll have to meet up with Kelly and me when Delta is in New York! Always good to have more people biggrin.gif
Madame Butterfly
I think her release in America will work simultaneously with the Australian release as I hope they are still going for a cross-over hit.

* Not the EXACT same time but you get my drift.
skinny_bones4
Yeah I'm hoping everything is at the same time.
Innocent-Gurl_009
Delta definitely wants to come back over to the US. She said her plans are to make a new album and be back over there, getting her music heard and known by the US audiences. smile.gif

She said that in an interview last year sometime.
MelCFn
Can't wait. Her competition is Christina Aguilera if she plans a Spring release. Just knowing what's ahead and all.
runningaway8
I'll be in Canada for 6 months at the end of this year, and I'm hoping she does something in the US (or canada, but thats quite unlikely, apart from obviously the concert in dec!) during that time, but I'm not hopeful LOL!!

But it is exciting whenever she is doing stuff there and hearing about it biggrin.gif

It is indeed! I live just an hour outside Toronto and like 20 min from Niagara Falls.
runningaway8
Well, then if something does come up, at least I know there'll be someone just as anxious to go to it as moi baha biggrin.gif

I'm not there till end of aug though biggrin.gif
Kait
Kelly, I have a friend that lives in Mississauga or however you spell it...are you close?
NYDeltaFan06
Mississauga is near Toronto so I think she is close. Kait, didn't you express interest in coming over to NYC sometime for a Delta event? You should definitely do it, assuming we have an event there that's planned well in advance! As many people as possible should try to, because then there would be a big crowd of us to support Delta!
jemmi_grace
Whereabouts in NY do you live?? Do you know a town called Melville? Thats where I'm staying
Kait
If she does something huge and gives us TONS of notice, I will try to make a NYC show. Money is waaay tight though so I would need ample time to prepare, lol.

I live in upstate NY, more towards the western part of the state. I'm closer to Canada than I am to NYC, actually laugh.gif

Haven't heard of Melville, but as you said you would be around NYC my guess would be that it's either on Long Island or down in the Westchester area. You'll have an amazing time though! There is always so much to do in the city, and since you'll be so close, it'll be great biggrin.gif
Kait
We keep talking about maybe going next winter, so fingers crossed Delta could do promo around taht time!

and Kelly, I just saw your are actually friends on facebook with my friend! She rides too, which was why I was curious if you guys knew each other.

I posted in the New era discussion thread about my thoughts of Delta's upcoming campaign in the US: http://forums.deltagoodrem.com/index.php?s...t&p=6618381

Basically I theorised that Delta will do very well with the new album. She has a base to work off and should simply hit the chord with the VH1/Hot AC market which she was doing so well with the 'In This Life' single. #6 on VH1, #21 on Hot AC radio with over 7000 downloads. The song was played on Letterman and The View as well as being played on like a hundred radio shows in the US, along with doing tons of radio concerts. Then just recently Delta got the recognition of David Foster who has stated that he wants Delta to be become popular in the States as shown by his casting of her in the Andrea Bocelli tour. Also the album did quite well, reaching #1 on the Billboard New Artist/Heatseekers chart [which was equivalent of #116 on the actual charts] and ended up selling in excess of 21 000 albums. To me, I think thats an example of great groundwork which should launch Delta into the next era very well.

Although this time I think its obvious that Delta should release more than one single there and spend actual concrete time touring and promoting herself smile.gif
Kait
I hope she spends a lot of time here and can establish herself much better. now that people actually know who she is out here, she can create a stronger fanbase.

QUOTE(bradwow @ Jan 24 2010, 01:59 PM) *

I have this really strong feeling that the albums gonna do really well. Shes working with hitmakers as well as accomplished artists. Shes stated that she is going to tour a lot more from now on. It seems her aim with this album is to crack the states. Considering music that works well over there work here, hopefully that'll be a good thing.

Delta does have a mass market in the US; the Vh1/Hot AC audience which got her significant recognition there. Problem was that they didnt continue with it through a second single. Itl did very very well on this format and i know her next release there will do even better. Delta could be huge in the US. Not even joking. The catch; she needs to dedicate a lot of solid time there doing tons of small promotion in getting her name out there.

I think its really important that delta does capalise on that aswell. Her label should be able to get her some mass tv appearances at first in US though anyway. Tv appearances reqch big crowds but its not going to sell music alone unless they hear it on radio or see it again on tv. Interviews in US are quite important. Her personality is part of her music and its a great way to introduce yourself to a market. Vh1 interview proved to increase sales while letterman appearance didnt impact anything.

Im so excited for deltas return to us. Simply cos i know shell succeed if she dedicates herself enough over there
I think d should launch first single in a massive way. A live performance at an awards show, e.g logies. She should launch first single in australia/asia/nz in the space of a month. She could then release single to US radio (adding new song takes like 6 weeks to start pickng up on US radio). Whilst thats going on she can reintroduce herself to uk/europe for 3 weeks getting single launched. D would then go to US and visit the Hot AC stations she topped last time around - performing the new single, as well as getting song played on vh1 and doing few tv appearances. Then d would return to australia and launch second single whilst also announcing small scale tour. That wouldnt take too long. D would then do album promo in asia, uk, europe in a month. Then delta would pull all strings in the US, hopefully guided through a successful single, in doing ellen, view, letterman etc as well as being vh1s you oughta know and doing mass radio appearances for a month leading up to album release and then staying there for week after as well. The album could pull a top 50 billboard placing and the US success and her presence on US shows would act as worldwide promotion. Then delta would return to australia for small scale acoustic tour which would be tons of sell out shows and cementing delta as the biggest australian act right now. Album sales would be massive. The tour should be at time of third single release which should be highlighted at the tour as a crowd favourite. The tour may last 6-8 weeks - a long time but would make up for lack of time spent beforehand. After tour delta should spend pretty much all her time in theUS touring, getting 2nd single successful. D should spend time in uk/europe gettin name out there but i believe the US should be main focus
Then i think itd be very cool if Delta re-released her album like rihanna and gaga with strong hit singles. D could then really capitalise on mass uk/europe promo as its somethin new after becoming established.
I also think it'd be very wise to make the re-release a 2cd set with the other cd being a singles collection. The point of that is to formally introduce the existence of deltas past music whilst serving as a platform for deltas tours to include the songs she wqnts to sing and allowing all her fans their chance to know it
K im drunk n im sorry for ppl who read all that. I was talkin crap but hopefully i made some good points
Delta wont have to be in australia to launch album, but she could do a tv showcase which would be aired on free to air tv preferably 5 days after album release to try to hold strong #1 position 2 weeks in a row.

I thought I would bring that whole post in here since there is alot of good ideas in here!

Ah Brad you never cease to amazing me with your posts. They always consist of great ideas!

There is too much to reply to but I'm going to point out the main ones that caught my eye. I look forward to her returning to VH1. I think alot of people like her on there and voted for her alot during her run. And since alot more fans are aware of Ghostmouse I think we can get her up higher. I'm thinking that as soon as we hear anything about Delta's new single or album, we need to bombard the VH1 community boards to get old and future fans hyped up for the upcoming release. That goes for the ION message board because they still have Delta's section up.

You mentioned about all of the different places to promote her new album. I think it is a great idea and I think she should do it, but the idea of hopping continually from one place to another concerns me. We saw how hopping from place to place and touring from state to state got Delta all messed up and when she got that allergic reaction and had to postpone her opera concert that was scheduled earlier.

I think she could promote in both Australia and USA with great sucess. But I think she should wait for Europe until after Australia and US is promoted (sorry Europe fans!!). Clearly she wants this album to crack the USA market and I think alot of solid constant time will be able to make that happen instead of breaking that time up.

I wasn't so hot about the idea about rereleasing her album. I just think its pointless. But of course I would buy whatever she released laugh.gif ! But I do like the idea of her releasing something that contained her previous 2 albums to the USA. Alot of her great work has come from those 2 albums including IE which made #1 of the decade in Australia. That clearly deserves to be exposed into the USA as well as the bsides.

As you can tell, I am extremely excited about this new album. I now check this site every day to see if there is any new news about it...even though I get Delta's twitter messages on my phone and I would find out that way if she announced the new album.

For all of you who hasn't read it in Delta Related, Delta is coming back to the USA!!

It always excites me when she does, but I'm hoping while she's over there she does stuff and that while I'm in canada the stuff she does is nearish me (prepared to travel a little bit obviously!) so I can go see her lol tongue.gif It'd be cool to see her somewhere other than aus haha biggrin.gif
franketh92
WOW she's now moving to US, so u all have a greater chance to see her!!
MelCFn
I hope she does some shows when she's in LA. At least the Hotel Cafe since it's low key.
Innocent-Gurl_009
It's great Delta is returning to the US. smile.gif She really deserves more success there. I hope you guys see more of her and she can actually do more shows and gets her name out there. Maybe another Letterman appearance? She needs to be interviewed on big US shows, and the audiences there can get to know more about her.
skinny_bones4
I'm not expecting anything performance wise until after her new single is released...

They are now saying that it'll be late this year when she releases the album...I was sorta expecting a late spring/early summer release.
MelCFn
I guess she's releasing it in the States first then.
Madame Butterfly
Why can't they update her U.S website with the new news? And it seriously needs a new design! I swear, I'd make a U.S one if I could.
franketh92
ha it's a good idea to release it in US first if it's really a very strong album...otherwise at least it needs Aus's support as backup...
skinny_bones4
Couldn't she release the album in both places simultaneously?
Kait
I think she could release in both and do relatively well in Aus while building a fanbase in the US. It may be a bit of a stretch, but I don't see why she couldn't.
NYDeltaFan06
She's releasing the album in the States first? Is this confirmed? It would be nice, so I don't have to pay a buttload in shipping charges from Australia because of my impatience tongue.gif
MelCFn
I'm just assuming so since she's moving stateside.
knightr634
I can't imagine Delta releasing the album in America first - if it didn't do well, it could damage sales in Australia, its probably better to release in Australia/New Zealand/Asia first, then UK and Europe, then America. America takes alot of time and if its the last one then she can concentrate all her energy on it without having to disappear as where.

For example: believe me I'm happy she went back to Australia to promote I Can't Break It To My Heart, if she hadn't it would have been a disaster and i was desperete to see it as a single, but if she didn't have to go back, Delta would have fitted alot more in, in America. Does that make sense?

I agree with this. It takes alot of less time to promote it in Australia and It would getting a big reaction.
