Did anyone, mostly from newy, eva hear of gracelands???
it was a place that would get fully done up @christmas n raise money, they closed down due to illness, but that was the best house.

Lights to go out on Gracelands
After years of putting on a dazzling display of Christmas lights, Lake Macquarie's 'Gracelands' will not be lit up this year.

Allan and Margaret Spencer spend months stringing up 60,000 lights on their Belmont North house and in the weeks before Christmas, thousands of people flock to the street and donate money to charity to enjoy the display.

Mr Spencer says his wife's ill-health has forced them to end the annual display and they will be selling the lights.

He says the decision was made with a heavy heart.

"It's going to be a very sad occasion I'm afraid and my wife's very upset about it, I'll tell you truthfully," he said.

"But I'm 80 now and she's not very well and it's just a sad parting, but I suppose all good things must come to an end sometimes."

God I love looking at the Christmas lights every year. Wish more houses would participate here in Australia. Last year we went on Christmas Eve and the whole street had decorations and lights up, it was awesome. We couldn't drive down the street, cars were parked miles away and people were walking around. It was like a huge party
