The opening bell may be shown on financial TV channels like CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business Channel, giving Delta extra exposure in the financial world at least for one day. The big question will be: will Wall Street continue the upward momentum after Dow Jones Industrial Index went up by a record 936 points on Monday?

I thought they meant bell as in ding-a-ling but they meant the judge hammer bell

Kyra Sedgwick did the Closing Bell on 7th July and they had her TV program as a banner in the background when she did it so perhaps they'll have a picture of the Delta CD on a big banner when she does it.

Does anyone know how important this opening bell is?
Does it get rung often?
And, just so I have the time right, is this happening in an hour?

Oct 14 2008, 11:38 PM
Yeah it wasn't this huge show...all they did was have her album cover on the three TV screens around her, and she was up there with a man and when the time came he open the cover and I guess she pressed a button to ring the bell. She was hot, of course, and even though it wasn't this huge spectacle it is still quite cool to see her doing something like that.

Alice, ringing the bell just symbolizes (in this case) the start of the stocks trading for that day. I don't much understand this stuff, but people have been following it quite a lot lately, considering the state of the economy.

Well the thing is, we still have the rest of the day to see any mention of her, just because of the big deal Wall Street has been lately. If this is another really good day or is a really bad day, there could be more attention placed on it and there might be a flash of the opening activities on television screens. Yes, this isn't some performance like on Letterman or The View, as those are the best things for mass exposure, but this is something.

THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thank you for letting us know. I saw it and she looked great.
http://www.nyse.com/events/1223893504097.html How on earth her PR folks pulled that one off, I don't know but they are amazing!
For those not familiar with the NYSE and it's importance, it's the single richest and most influential world-financial institution on earth. To say this was a good move on the part of Delta's Management Team would be a major understatement.
Thanks again.

Considering all of the attention the NYSE has been getting recently, this can only raise her exposure level considerably.

I just hope the market doesn't crash like it did last week.

They've been talking about the NYSE nonstop on the news here today. I didn't have it on but I could hear it coming from my gma's tv downstairs. hopefully they showed Delta!
Supposedly the market is off to a much better start today.
Lets hope some big business people took note of her and will want to book her for some stuff.

Thanks for the caps Jason

For the record, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index edged up 1.30 points at the opening bell before surging up 407 points in the first half hour of trade. The rally faded and the Dow dropped by as much as 303 points in the afternoon, before recovering slightly. It closed at 9310.99, down 76.62 point from Monday.
