Hi Guys,

I thought this would be a pretty cool feature as I know im constantly making errors in my topic titles and have to have a mod the rename them also people created a thread that turns into a fight so I think that the topic creator should have the right to delete there own topic if wanted? Opinions.

good idea. But mods probably end up deleting or closing later.

I agree with the ability to rename the topic.. but I think closing should be up to the mods. I think instead we should have the power to delete our posts(not the enitre topic)

I don't think it would work being able to totally rename topics because then things could get extremely confusing if people change the name all the time. However I would like the ability to edit our sub-headings.

That's a great idea! I always make errors and I dont want to pester the mods with my gramatical and spelling errors haha. Hmm maybe we should be able to delete our own posts, like remove ourselves from the thread, but the closing should be up to the mods

I think we should have the option of renaming our titles.

But i think it should be left to the mods if the thread should be closed or not.

If that was going to happen, while it was still new to everyone, some people might rename topics as often as they can just to confuse people, and they might delete their posts and topics just for fun. I remember that someone asked if the 'Edited by' thing could be optional, and it couldn't because of legal reasons. Deleting the post or topic would make that even worse, because then the evidence would be deleted.

If a moderator did it, it would be for good reasons. But I do think that if you make a mistake, or you want to add something, you should be able to edit your topic title (as long as it is only subtle), or if you accidentally post more than once, you should be able to delete them.

I don't agree with the Topic changing and the deleting of posts. But I do agree with the changing of subtitles as someone above me said.
It wouldn't be that confusing if they change the subtitle to reflect whats going on in the thread perhaps ?

I would think that this issue would be similar to editing posts... I remember someone asking about it and a mod said there were actually legal reasons behind people not being able to edit posts, perhaps that's similar to titles. In the events of fights etc.

However I do agree the subtitle should be able to be changed to give it a 'status'... essentially that would work well, especially for things like ARIA and Hot 30 Countdown threads where you could edit with the new single etc.

But a post could be edited and nobody even mods could read the un-edit.

I would very much like this option. We have it on the Nicole Forum and it's a lifesaver for me lol. I'm always making a stupid typo or the topic takes a different direction and I want to rename it or something.

^ yeah its also on Devoted Fans Network and its really handy.. and like when you delete your posts you have to state a reason why. It comes in handy. I love it

I agree with people able to edit the titles, although it has the potential to become quite confusing if it's changed dramatically, but I don't like the idea of being able to delete our own threads, leave that up to the sometimes nazi mods
