Hey Forumers,

Rush is an action drama series set in a new critical incident response police unit. They're trained to be smarter, tactically superior and technologically advantaged - Melbourne's take on a cutting edge trend in policing worldwide. Rush is an insider's view of police under pressure - defusing crises, saving lives, preventing crime rather than catching the bad guys after the deed is done.

Enter the Tactical Response team (TR).

Fast, courageous and irreverent, they're a bunch of supremely trained young cops, working as a 24 hour mobile team responding to crisis anywhere in the city within ten minutes. They bring negotiation skills, lateral thinking, less lethal weaponry and a fresh attitude. Their brief is to strive for a fast and non-lethal resolution to the problem at hand.

They're trained in counter-terrorism, advanced weaponry, explosives, bush survival, hand-to hand combat, navigation, advanced driving and rope work as well as the psychology of negotiation in hostage situations. They are about a 'less lethal' response to any incident likely to escalate out of hand.

And they're fast...

They are always on the road, patrolling, ready to respond to a crisis - A bank robbery, a hostage situation, a sniper, a prison escapee, a suicide attempt, a missing person, a bomb threat or guarding someone under witness protection. The team is supported by an intelligence expert, working in the nerve centre - an operations room back at headquarters with the cutting edge of technology at his fingertips.

Being a new fresh organisation they're still on probation to a certain extent. The hierarchy is still keeping a close eye on this experiment in modern policing. They know they're under the microscope and any major slip up could jeopardize their whole existence.

But the team has been well chosen. At moments of supreme pressure this team can anticipate each other's moves and work in formidable harmony. They know they're operating at the cutting edge of police work, and they wouldn't trade it for the world.

And again, another brilliant Melbourne produced TV program is about to hit our screens... Rush!
I'm already sucked in.

I really enjoyed it. I liked Josh, he's a great guy. Reckless and caring. =)

I didn't really like the guy heading the team (before the new woman comes into it). Lawson I think it was? He seems a bit distant. And the young kid annoys me. Bit slow too, having to be told after hearing a commotion to yank his camera input before he got to the bottom of the stairs. Stupid.

I'm guessing not many people will like the new boss that came in. I think she's brilliant though. Not unstable, but a little unhinged. Will make her more interesting.

I generally don't like Australian shows, especially not Aussie "crime" shows but I like that it's more the response force rather than crime scene "whodunit" like City Homicide.

I love Rush! It's a different type of police show and it's good to see Rodger Corser(Lawson) and Callan Mulvey(Josh) back on tv, they were brilliant on Underbelly and Claire Vanderboom(Grace)-last seen in Nash Edgerton's The Square(Carla).
I like newcomer Ashley Zuckerman(Micheal), he's a spunk!

Herald Sun TV Guide says today that series 2 will have 22 episodes and a 8.30pm timeslot next year. It also says that Claire van der Boom (Grace) has been granted a Green Card so she could work in the US.
:.miss_innocent_eyes.:
yeah it's a shame she was on it for such a short time
Butterfly1987
yer i know ive i would have like her too be there longer oh well
Mattk
I actually thought she was one of the weaker characters in the series. Her presence there often seemed extraneous and really only to serve up some juicy conflicts. Michael Sandrelli is the character who I think has the most promise, if he stays.

I was so shocked that Claire Van Der Boom's character Grace was killed off but am happy that she has a green card to work in the US. For anyone who doesn't know, she also starred in Nash Egerton's The Square which also stars Joel Egderton.

Besides Rodger Corser my favorite Rush actor is Ashley Zuckerman who plays Michael Sandrelli.
