I don't know about anyone else, but personally I feel that a topic title isn't always enough to explain what a topic is about. Sometimes I would like a little more info, especially if it's a news article with a vague title. I would like it so that when you move your mouse over a topic title (atm it's simply the time the topic was posted), instead it would show the first post that was made. Therefore you wouldn't have to click on it to know what it was about and you wouldn't be wasting time clicking on pages when they weren't what you thought they were etc.

I know what you mean. Maybe instead of the whole post though it just shows about a paragraph or so? That would probably be enough to give you a good indication of whether you want to read the topic or not

i dont think id personally take advantage of it though usually if the topic is pointless someone manages to make a humourous post i enjoy reading replies just as much as the actual topic itself

This is on most forums that i've been too and its great. You can read the first 25 words or so, just to see if its interesting or not.

I know it's possible on Invision forums because I've seen it on some and I really find it useful. Obviously not everyone would use it but I think it would help helpful to a lot of people.

Sometimes when I post an article, I will post my own topic title so people can understand, and leave the actual newspaper title in the post.

The only time when this may be a problem is if someone is playing an April Fools joke haha... but that's one day of the year
