Wednesday week. (Wednesday 16th July). I just saw the promo for it a few minutes ago. Looks reallly good. Btw u don't haven't already figured it out yet I'm talking about the original US version. Imo their quality of dance/choreographers is much better than our (the Australian version).

Mia Michaels is just...omg brilliant! And I accidentally saw one of the performances by accident on youtube and omg! I loved it!

So for all the fans who've only seen the aussie version, watch this series of the US and u'll be blown away!

This season has been amazing so far! I love any routine done by Mia Michaels or Tabitha & Napolean!

Rhys and Kate are great imo. But have u watched the U.S. version before? I loved it right from the moment Channel Ten aired it a couple of years ago. It's way better than our version, trust me. The chorrie and quality of dance is just amazing, imo of course.

Only one more day to go ppl until it premiers! Yay! I'm sooo excited.

and like the performances, i loved the zombi dance that was a group dance to ramala bang bang! great song and great dance!

in dance class our teacher always brings performances in on her laptop and we use them in class, our homework is to watch sytycd

I didn't watch much but from what I did, I liked that funny break-dancing guy.. some of his moves was awesome cool!

Some programming info from Aaron, a contributor to tvaus.com.au:

On Wednesday 6th August at 7:30pm is So You Think You Can Dance. We are now up to the performance shows. Once again Channel 10 will air the performance and the results shows together. There is 3 hours of American footage between the two shows and Channel 10 will edit that down to 2 and a half hours. This will happen on Friday night August 8th at 7:30pm as well. So that is 5 hours of SYTYCD each week. Is that overload? I don't know. It is just before the Olympics so will provide good alternative viewing. Should they have aired the full 2 hours performance show on Wednesday and then the full 1 hour performance on Thursday and leave it at that? Anyone's guess. The episode on Friday 8th August aired in America on 19th June.

Note the performance episode to air on August 8 will be up against the AFL in Melbourne and Adelaide, and the Beijing Olympic Games opening ceremony in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth (due to time difference).

Channel Seven aren't going to air the Olympic opening ceremony in Melbourne?? Instead, they're gonna show the football? I can't believe that! That's pretty dodgy I reckon. Anyway back on topic, thanks for the info Johnson.

I loved Wednesday's premier. Love watching Mia and Mary together, sooo funny. Especially with Mia's slip-up as she was criticizing the Italian guy.

In Melbourne on August 8, SYTYCD will air from 7.30pm to 10pm, meaning it will go directly head to head with the AFL on Seven (7pm to 9.50pm). The Olympic Games opening ceremony telecast starts at 9.50pm.

Ahh ok, my bad. That means the Olympic opening ceremony will be delayed big time, right? Dodgy.

No, the opening ceremony will definitely be shown live. It starts at 8pm Chinese time, or 10pm AEST. This means it won't finish on the east coast until sometime after 1am!

Here are the airdates of the SYTYCD programs on Channel Ten in the next three weeks.
Wednesday, July 30: Auditions highlights from Los Angeles and Milwaukee
Friday, August 1: Las Vegas week (top 200)
Wednesday, August 6: Top 20 performance (first aired in the US on June 11)
Thursday, August 7: Top 20 results from 7.30pm to 8.30pm (first aired in the US on June 12) *special time*
Friday, August 8: Top 18 performance and results (first aired on June 18/19)
Wednesday, August 13: Top 16 performance and results (first aired on June 25/26)
Friday, August 15: Top 14 performance and results (first aired on July 2/3)

Note the combined performance and results program will go for 2.5 hours, from 7.30pm to 10pm.

Strange programming amendment from Channel Ten regarding SYTYCD, from Aaron at tvaus.com.au:

As reported from next week, the performance and results shows start on SYTYCD.
Channel 10 are editing the shows to fit into a combined 2 and a half hour slot each Wednesday and Friday.
That is not odd in itself.
An amendment came through just now that the Top 20 Performance show ONLY will air on Wednesday August 6. The Top 20 Results will air at 7:30pm the next night August 7.
What is odd about the amendment is that this is not regular. The performance and results show will still air combined on Friday August 8 and also another performance/results on Wednesday August 13.

The audition that I watched like a month ago is gonna be shown! It's freaken hilarious! But it's amazing - it's a former SYTYCD contestant. They're wearing the red dress doing that amazing backflip/stand thing.

You know those identical twins on friday night, Anthony and Antwain? i think their names where..i deno.

Did they get through the choreography? I missed that part haha.

It's been awhile since I watched that episode but I think they both made it through the choreography. I'm sure both of them were in Vegas.

I missed pretty much all of Friday's ep - tho I kinda watched (as I was on the comp ) the last 30, 45 mins.

Prepare urselves to watch a former contestant's audition! All the judges gave a standing ovation except for that woman on the end, all she could say was 'omg, omg, omg...' Pretty boring, should read a dictionary to learn more words, lol.

Watch out for Danielle Chorizo's(?) [forgotten the exact spelling] audition. Very exciting funny as. AFTER THE BREAK!!!

arghhhh did anyone watch it tonight?

i thought it was complete crap!!! seriously the waltzz???? jeeeze do they want to copy australia enough.... same genre, same song, same style of dress..... and similar choreography except it was no where near as good as jemma and rhys!!!! hey even ended it the same... and started it without music! it was even the slow version of a new day has come!!
very annoyed becuase on youtube american people have commented on the australian one saying that omg we so shouldent copy america and that we shouldnt have copied the show and that australia shouldnt have the show at all!!!!


and they also used the same song for the disco routine last week, and they used untouch this week! want to copy enough....

and tonights ep was filled with stupid tango and waltz's and tooo many ballroom ones i was so bored! AND the jazz routine by mandy moore was crap... the contemporary one by her was the best of the night and it still was nothing like mia michaels choregraphies!!!

^umm.. if you even know what the waltz is, you'll know that just because they started without music, or had the same pose, doesn't mean they copied australia. if you watched more waltz dances, you'll know. and ballroom is not boring, just because it's slow. and i hope you know america had sytycd waaay before australia, and they always have the Viennese waltz in it.

omg i love this season!! the best yet. i HATE the aus version sooo much... it sucks!! was the musical broadway awesome or what?! so far they're my favourite pair. gosh.. so brilliantly choreographed!! i can't get over it!

ok woah so didnt expect that but anyway...

i was clearly pointing out that the majority of the performance was the same. same song (even the ballad version), same costumes, same LIGHTING, same style, SOME of the same choreography..... thats one hell of a coincidence! what do you have to say to that?
and the american performance of that was filmed on the week of 18 June 2008 where as the australian one was filmed on the week of 17 February 2008....

and yer i have been dancing since i was 6 yrs old (11 years), so i do know what the waltz is thanks very much, and i quite like it, the australian version of that performance was my favourite in the entire australian season.

i also said that i like the genre of contemporary (which can be fast and slow) and i never said that the reason i dont like 'ballroom' genres is becuase they are slow. many of them on friday night were quite fast i jsut thought they should have had a few different genres too mix it up a bit as i prefer other genres more.

hahahah and bianca pretty sure i have been watching sytycd since season 1 of the american season (all four seasons of it). did you also know that it wasnt americans who came up with it? it was two english men.... Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe

I thought the exact same thing, when watching the US walz I was like that looks familer. I thought Jemma and Rhy's was better though. Funny or coinsidence that A new day has come and untouched were both used in the first Aus top 20 show and both in the US show.

By my calculation it will air on September 18, provided Ten switch to showing one performance per week after the Olympics.
