From today's Herald Sun:
FAMILY Day at Flemington could be overrun by tweens if High School Musical's Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens take up their invitations.
The famous pair, and fellow HSM star Ashley Tisdale, will be in town to promote the third instalment of their worldwide smash hit franchise.
The premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be held in Melbourne on Wednesday, November 12, and is expected to take place at the Jam Factory.
Thousands of kids, and probably quite a few adults, will no doubt paint the shopping strip East High Wildcats red and white for the premiere.
The other two HSM flicks went direct to the Disney Channel, and had spawned a worldwide phenomenon that included millions of CDs and books and numerous stage shows.
The three stars will be jetting into Australia the weekend before the Melbourne premiere, to attend the Sydney premiere, meaning they will be in the country for the tail end of the Spring Racing Carnival.
Hudgens was the talk of last year's carnival after her - photo scandal erupted just hours before she and her beau hit the track on Melbourne Cup preview day.
Efron also made headlines for his calorie counting inside the extravagant Emirates marquee. He snubbed the food in favour of downing protein shakes and health bars he had delivered to the exclusive suite.
But the Victoria Racing Club said yesterday it would be delighted to have them back at Flemington.
"If they decided they wanted to come to Emirates Stakes Day, we would be more than happy to have them," a spokeswoman said.
"They are very welcome."
