a good bit of the sections have too many pages of threads... I think the mods could create an archive section and lock up all the old threads after they are certain age old... hopefully, that would make the search function much better and the board would look cleaner.

they already lock up threads after 1,500 posts...
and sometimes old threads need to be brought back..

I meant vaulting them, actually. They would be in a section by itself. Because of the numerous topics, the search function really is not quite as effective as it's supposed to be.

I was actually wondering about having a section for old posts too, but for the opposite reason. I went looking for a thread that I started that wasn't even that old, but there were only 5 pages of threads in that section and the topics seemed to just disappear once they were bumped off the 5th page, but if I googled them, I could access old threads, so I was kind of confused lol.

I completely agree with this idea.
