Who likes this show?
For me... I like this show... but it often clashed with Drew Carey's Price is right million dollar show (or something like that). That's quite a buzzkill

, if you ask me. So, I would switch back and forth if both of them are on.

In Australia the show is on Channel Seven (the local affiliate of NBC) just before the 6pm main news. It's very popular too. Often I see bits of the show as I wait for the news to start.

In the U.S., we have Howie Mendel. It's odd that nobody have ever won one million dollars yet (several contestants had picked the one million dollar case, though).

Ooh they go upto one million in the states? i think the most here is 200 thousand.

Yeah... I saw some clips of the Aussie version on YouTube.
Lately, we have something called Million Dollar Madness... where the contestant will pick out a ball, which determines the number of million dollar cases they will have in the game.

Andrew O'Keefe actually has some entertainment pedigree. His uncle was the singer Johnny O'Keefe. His father was former Justice Barry O'Keefe in the Sup.Ct NSW and Andrew O'Keefe himself practiced as a solicitor for some years. He's straddled two vastly different worlds and I have a fair bit of respect for the guy.
I quite like Deal or No Deal. It's really funny a lot of the time, despite being a really boring concept.

The concept is actually not boring, since it does test a person's guts and smartness.
But based on the Youtube videos I saw, the Aussie banker is sure mean!

Just because he's family's in entertainment and have done well doesn't make him any less of a wanker.

yeah... I saw a Youtube clip where a guy knocked out the top 4 prizes on the first 4 cases he chose... at the end of that round, he was offered 10 cents... that's such an insult, if you ask me.

If the American banker already got booed quite often... I am sure the audience would be throwing rotten tomatoes and other rotten stuff like that at the Aussie banker... lol!

At least in the Australian version it's simple and there's no lame faux exchange between the host and the banker. Does anyone think the phone line is actually connected?

I saw another version of DOND when I was in Hong Kong in January. It had 30 girls each holding a different case. The host had longer chats with the contestant (usually a celebrity or a TV actor) and there was actually a banker upstairs (although I suspect it was just another actor pretending to type on a computer). Also, the winner did not actually win cash, just products from the program's sponsors to the value of the amount won by the contestant. Also, the sight of the audience crossing their arms saying "No Deal" is quite annoying.

I might be in the U.S. now... but I do think a lot of game shows in Hong Kong usually has celebs instead of ordinary people, at least for the non-cable channel in Hong Kong that produced a lot of game shows, since they were re-aired in the U.S. on a later time after the original shows were produced in H.K.

Arabella?! Ew
When I was in the U.S there's this game show channel.
And the newlywed show is hilarious.
Like these men are asked questions about daily things in their household and they write down the answers why their wives are off then the wives come back and they show th answers and the wives get so angry

gold entertainment!

You must be talking about TVB. I saw the HK version of DOND on TVB Jade (Cantonese channel). Due to copyright reasons, the local version is not shown on TVB-owned cable channels around the world (unlike The Weakest Link in 2001).

Yeah... I am talking about that. The only way for me to see those clips are via YouTube, which is good enough.
Personally, that host does too much talking on the sidelines and not enough on the game play.
