^ pssh
he DOESNT deserve it.. HE CANT SING !!
all he is, is "cute" .. idol is about voice!
hmm...just because idol wasn't the right enviroment for him doesn't mean he can't sing. He was nervous on the show and overthought everything. So his idol performances weren't so great, that doesn't mean he can't sing. Give the kid a break.

Those girls GAH so annoying.. poor tom i think he improved so much! sophie and madam to go.
Yeah, it was sad to see him go after his best performance

I sure hope Madam goes! And Thanh, then Sophie. Teale had better not leave this week. He's just about the only good one left.

I'm just so glad Tom went instead of Teale.. I swear I would have been so so annoyed if it went the other way

and its about time he went too... but it should have been last week instead of Brooke though..

yeah, I was pretty sad to see Tom go, but I would have been devistated if Teale had left

Does this show have decent talent this year?
It did, but they all left

OK, not quite, there are a coupled talented people left. I personally like Teale Jakubenko, and Chrislyn Hamilton is really good, too! But other talented singers like Brooke Addamo and Kayla Vanzetta are already gone

There's no one as talented as Matt and Ben last year, though. They were the best

Australian Idol's Tom Williams Says Judges Were Biased
Sep 30 01:32pm
The youngest contestant on the 2008 Australian Idol series, Tom Williams, 16, saw his journey on the talent quest end last night after he was voted out of the bottom three. But according to Williams, the judges' bias against him rather than his lack of talent was the reason behind the eviction. He tells WHO why.
Are you disappointed your Idol experience is over?
I am but in another way I am glad: I was sick of being slaughtered by the judges and of the way they were portraying me.
What do you mean by that, did you think they had an agenda to get you off the show? Definitely - they know who they want to win and that's Wes. All the comments they made about me were negative and everything they did was about trying to get me off. I was disgusted by the way they portrayed me on the show last night, making out that I was only after phone numbers from girls. It just wasn't the case, but if they want to do that then that's up to them.
So you think the judging is rigged in some way?
Absolutely, everything is set up for Wes to win. He's a great bloke and he deserves it, but it's obvious they are trying to push him forward over anyone else.
Was the experience a positive one overall?
For sure, every thing I did I did it with 110 per cent and I'll remember the experience for the rest of my life.
You were criticized for not singing age appropriate songs - do you regret your song choices?
No, they say to stick to who you are and those songs are what I sing. I wasn't necessarily trying to appeal to the teenage market. Anyway, I liked the idea of entertaining older generations as well.
What's next for you now?
I'm going to take a break for a while but then I would love to start up a Jonas Brothers style of band - they are huge in America and I think a band like that could bring something special to Australian pop.
I'm really disappointed to see this article here. It's very misleading & heavily edited
written by the media. Tom's not a sore loser, he's taken the punch quite well, actually.
Here's a much more accurate article, out of another magazine:
How are you feeling?
I'm kind of glad to be gone but sad to be gone if you know what I mean. The pressure was really getting to me.
We hear you were doing five hours of school work a day. How hard was the pressure of doing both school and Idol for you?
It was very hard. I'd get a call halfway through school saying, "It's ABBA week this week, choose your songs." And everyone's already calling up and looking at songs on YouTube, getting their songs ready because it's first in, best dressed song wise. I'd get left with all the leftovers. It was very hard for me.
Are you glad not to have to do ABBA week then?
I reckon it would have been better than '80s week! I had SOS lined up, a big ballady thing. It could have been really cool. But in another sense I was glad because I couldn't have been torn up by the judges again. I would have emotionally broken down.
How hard was it for you to hear "Teale should stay, Tom should go home" from the judges when the two of you were bottom two?
You just have to try to ground yourself. I knew Teale would go through because (his state have) got live television. In my state there's a delayed telecast so nobody knew I was in the bottom three. So he had the home ground advantage. Taking no credit away from him, he's an awesome singer, is improving every week and he'll go pretty far.
So do you think you were disadvantaged by coming from Adelaide?
I think if you're in the bottom three and you're not from a state that has live television you're screwed.
So you think people from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane have an advantage?
For sure. I'd say Wes has got this in the bag. For one he's an awesome singer and two he's from Sydney. So he's got this wrapped I reckon.
How did you cope having to sing after watching your goodbye package?
It was the most emotional thing I've ever done in my life. I got really emotional when I saw the first audition I started crying and I couldn't hold it back. But then having to sing you just have to compose yourself and breathe.
Did you talk to the judges once it was all over?
Yeah I did. -o just said, "Stick to your dreams ? in a couple of years you'll have an awesome career". Kyle and I exchanged phone numbers and he said, "If you need anything give me a call. Start up your own band and you'll go pretty far." Marcia was just very supportive and in a bit of shock I think.
Do you feel like it's the judges tearing you down that saw you leaving?
Not really. I think it was more the producers. They portrayed me in a way I didn't want to be portrayed. They made me look like someone I wasn't. They made it look like I was only here for the female attention and that's definitely not true. It just shows that what (the producers) want to happen, they make happen. I like them and I don't want to get on their bad side but they definitely made me go last night. With all of the phone numbers and chicks and all that ? none of that was true to the fact.
So what really happened?
I was standing on the side of the stage and the producers said, "Go over and say hello to the girls". So they made it look like I did that. And then they said, "What do you have in your hand?" And I was like, "Phone numbers. Oh, joke, add them to the collection". People would have thought that I was arrogant. And I just want to say that I'm not arrogant at all. I wasn't happy about it.
Do you have any regrets? Do you wish you'd waited a few years before going on the show now?
I think definitely if I knew it was going to be on next year I would have waited. But I don't know that and I would have kicked myself in the head if it wasn't on and I didn't go for it. I thought ti could have been the end fo the show so I had to do it. But it was a really awesome experience and I'm really grateful.
What was your highlight of the competition for you?
Probably my leaving. Not so much the leaving part of it but the performance I thought was amazing.
Was it nice to go out on a high?
That was the only song honestly that I felt comfortable with the whole series.
Who will you miss the most?
Probably Wes, Madam and Luke. Definitely Luke ? he was like my big brother. He stays on everyone's good side in the house. And I think he's a big underdog who will go pretty far in this competition.
You said you think Wes will win. Who else are you tipping to last the distance?
I reckon the top four could probably be Wes, Madam, Chrislyn and Luke. And I think the top two will be Wes and Chrislyn.
What else will you miss about Idol?
Mainly I will miss the contestants. They're like family now. It's like someone dying in your family. It's like breaking up the family. I'll miss performing every week ? I won't miss being torn apart! ? but I can almost guarantee that if I'd stayed for another few weeks there would have been some amazing performances so that's unlucky on Australia's part.
Who do you think will go home next?
The bottom three next week, not based on performance because I don't know what their performances will be like, but I think it will be Thanh, Sophie and Teale again and I think Sophie will go.
What's next for you?
I'll probably take a month off just to relax. I'll go back to school if it's possible, get back into reality. But hopefully start up a boy band type thing. Jonas Brothers style. They're really cool and I think it would be really huge in Australia if I could pull of something like that.
Do you have anyone in mind for the band?
No, I don't. So if anyone interested, buzz me! Chuck that in because I really need some help with that. Message me on MySpace if you're interested ? if you're a good looking guy who plays guitar!
But you have to be the pretty one right?
Oh for sure! Kyle said, "They can't be prettier than you!"
