I won for Nicky, lol. But I had a strong feeling that Steph McIntosh would win, and you know what? She did (33%), but Nicky came second with 22%.

Did anyone watch The Panel's Christmas Wrap last night? Josh Lawson (hot younger brother of Ben) made an appearance with Shane Borne, a little kinda stint of Thank God You're Here, it was funny, lol.

Lol. I finally had enough guts to take a look at what he wrote. He said "sure" and he added me the very next day!! There are some really hot pics of him, lol. And there obviously is a reason why people on MySpace (like myself) set their profiles to private. His 'friends', I'm guessing, are his close friends and family and a few fans. He's only got about 91 or so people, including me, on his list.

I was browsing through all his hot pics, to see if he had any with Nicky Whelan so I could make a sig, lol. But unfortunately he didn't. I also found Alan Fletcher and his band, Waiting Room, on myspace.

And for those who want to find out who exactly Rosie (Natalie Saleeba) kisses next year and see who I was talking about it on towards the bottom of page 13 (yes I spent a while reading through all the pages to find where I wrote who I thought it might be with), but if you really want to know who is it, I said it right at the start of page 14.

So Janae will be the only somewhat original Timmins left in Ramsay Street, well techniquely (however its spelt properly, lol) she's actually a Hoyland now, since she married Boyd....but then again, will their marriage last?

^ Lol, besides the H&A stuff, the articles in the mag about Neighbours is pretty good. I'm trying to get this week's issue, hopefully my mum will buy the right magazine. I spent about 3 minutes explaining to her that the TV Week logo is always on the top left hand corner and its a red square and the text is white, lol. Coz I usually buy all my mags myself, so she wouldn't have a clue what I read, and she's going shopping and unfortunately I have to stay home and start on my homework.


Obviously I messed up saying that there were 8 days left until Neighbours returns, when it was actually 7 days, lol. But I was also techniquely (spelling mistake?) right too with 8 days, if you count monday too. And guess what? I saw the FIRST ever promo for Neighbours for the '07 season last night. I was watching Languna Beach, sitting on the floor of my room patting my dog. Then I hear "Neighbours" (it was an ad break) so I looked up and watched the promo ad thing. The faces I recall were; Pepper (she was smiling flirtatously..? If I spelt that coprrectly, lol), Toadie lying in the hospital bed, and getting shocked, how doctors do that whole "Clear!" thing. And....I can't remember anymore, ooohh!!!! And Paul and Rosie making out on the table like there was no tomorrow, knocking stuff down, bit freaky.

But yeah watch Languna beach tonight, especially in the ad breaks and keep your eye peeled for the Neighbours ad. It came on during the second last ad break for Laguna, about 6.50pm. Random thing I know, but it was good.

And Nicky Whelan looks nice in the pic, and I don't know if you can see properly, but she's wearing that ring on her thumb on her left hand. Did you know, that in the first ep where Pepper, Frazer, Rosetta and Will are swimming in the pool (and how Karl comes over and Pepper thinks he's the pizza guy, lol. Well they're playing loud music and Karl's baby-sitting Charlie) that scene was filmed in the second week all 4 actors started there...if that makes sense. But yeah I find it interesting, and it was filmed about 9am on a cold winter morning.

Yeah that's true, but still, along the line, in the future. I've read that Neighbours won't make it past 2007, that this would be the last season. But I think that was just someone's opinion, I can't remember.

OK, I'm gonna put forward a question.

What kind of storyline do you think will boost up the Neighbours ratings?


I think there needs to be a new younger couple (new characters or whatever) who are probably teenagers that are so perfect together and have so much chemistry on screen that the audience wants to really get involved emotionally in that relationship. Like really look forward to seeing the couple together and go "awwww" and happy inside when they see them kiss or whatever. The audience are too distant.

Are people here familiar with the terms 'ship', 'shippy' or 'shipper'? Neighbours needs a couple that's really shippy and probably constantly comes across issues in their relationship, often over silly things and then to resolve those issues, all in a very short period of time. This will build up a fanbase of shippers who watch the show to follow the ship and hope for a happy ending (which of course, there will always be).

Ok, I don't think people are getting me. Does anyone here watch That 70s Show? Donna and Eric are a really shippy couple that you just love to see together. They seem to have fights nearly ever episode always over silly things but their strong deep friendship allows them to resolve those issues. Their relationship practically drives that show.

In Neighbours, there might need to be a similar sort of couple that aren't so serious that just go through heaps of ups and downs with their relationship but always pull through in the end. A couple that had a lot of chemistry like Nina and Jack did. Or even how Sky and Boyd did. There hasn't been a couple like that for ages because the show has more turned to mismatched relationships and cheating and there's no perfect person for another person.

Like the closest thing there is at the moment is probably Stingray and Rachel who are good together but bringing other issues into it like Stingray believing he was the father of Sky's baby and Stingray's drinking. I think there needs to be less outside serious issues, and more silly, misunderstanding-type, joke-gone-the-wrong-way-type funny-almost issues which they work through within a few episodes or something.

Janae and Boyd are ok but they don't really have the kind of chemistry I'm talking about. Honestly, I don't think their characters go that well and they're just together because the writers made it that way. They are just too different. The ditsy, blonde, not-so-bright girl with the grounded, serious, intelligent guy. In real life, I don't see a couple like that.




OK, if anyone read all that (and understood it), well done! I'd like to hear what you think. (And ask me to clarify anything you might not understand and I'll try my best). Also, put forward ideas of storylines you'd like to see. (It doesn't have to be that long or complex or whatever).

In the UK we are up to where Sky has confessed to Dylan he is not the baby's father. I really don't want to see Ned and Camilla get together. I am so disappointed that Connor has been forgotten and has Toadie actually left the series now? He's up in Sydney at the moment (here).

Does Mischka come back? I quite like her character and also does anyone think Delta will ever go back to Neighbours at least for some special guest episodes?

That's a very interesting point you've brought up Sarah I agree with you about the audience being distant, because I find that true - we're just the audience, we just watch and stuff. I know that its just a television program for our enjoyment and everything, but there needs to be something there, I'm not quite sure what exactly, but I feel there's something missing. Anybody agree? If you got what I meant, lol.

Though I didn't get you about the whole 'ship'/'shippy'/'shipper' thing. I kinda got the whole Nina and Jack thing, how they were young and loved each other, but had their fair share of problems but practically always pulled through at the end. How Jack cheated on Nina, and Nina left....almost a year later she returns, pashes him in the doorway, Jack asked why she did it, she said to see if they was anything still there. He asked if there was, she cheekily said "Let's just take things one step at a time." Then she left, few months later Jack can't bare to be apart from her any longer, goes to "L.A" to look for her, she dresses up as a maid and surprises him in his hotel room. Never to be heard of again!!

Haha, I know, so corny how I remembered all that by memory! Lol, but yeah, Jack and Nina were one of those "Awww" couples I reckon. Everybody loved them, and loved how they were switten and were so in love with each other. Did you mean like that Sarah? Haha, I probably had you lost when I said Nina left..and almost a year later she returns. my bad hehe.

Anywhoo...I find that the comical storylines are good involving Pepper and sometimes Frazer (that whole 'engagement' fiasco) that was good. The Zeke thing and his school boy 'crush' was absolutely hilarious. With the whole sleepwalking and confessing "I love you" to him, and stealing her underwear. Then Bree and Rachel paying her back with the itching powder and that statue thing with her face on it, haha.

Then the whole mysteriousness and secrecy of the boys; Frazer and Will. We all know Pepper is Chris' and Officer Steiger's daughter, apparently Pepper has a brother too, I read about that somewhere, though I don't know if its true or not. And Rosie (aka Rosetta) is Camella's older sister. Its only the boys with alias names. We all know Will is really "Sebastian Barnes" and I don't think Frazer's real name has been revealed yet. He revealed that Johnny is his brother to Rosie, but she was sleeping. And he revealed a bit more about his life to Pepper, the whole police check thing and "Frank Organ", haha. When Ringo (Sam Clark) arrives to Ramsay Street he also assumes the name "Yeats".

I don't see a couple out here in the 'real world' like Boyd and Janae either. I mean, opposites do attract...sometimes, depending on the circumstances of course. But I guess the show is somehow a bit of a fantasy too? I don't know.

Oh yeah in my previous popst where I said "Oh well, the photoshoot couldn't been as a character thing." I mean't "Oh well, the photoshoot could've been as a character thing." Doesn't matter now.

If you've read all that, well donw, lol. I know I write a heck of a lot! And some of it is crap, lol. I've got to say this is probably my second last post, because I will be doing my homework, I've got HEAPS of things to start and finish off before I finish school. This thread has exceeded beyond my expectations, I only thought that only a few people would post in it, we would only get up to 7 pages or something. A special thanks to each individual who has posted in here, whether it'd be their opinion, the recent episode that was on tv, or even an article, it has kept this thread alive and bumped. Thank-you all very much, I hope you've enjoyed the spoilers and pictures I've posted up in recent months. I wish I could say I will continue to do so, but unfortunately my first major priority is to finish my final year of VCE the best I can.

But I really appreciate what everyone has done here, and a special thank to the Scriptwriters and Producers (one to I spoke to) of Neighbours, and all the cast and crew of the show, for giving us the opportunity to discuss this great Australian show - not many of them around anymore. And of course, the wonderful actors who put in a terriful effort week after week to produce such an amazing show after 22 years (22nd year this year) as Australia's longest running soap/drama show. Much longer than H&A, whereas people say H&A has been on tv longer than Neighbours has, which is totally and utterly false.

I almost hear someone going, "Shut up Anita! You haven't won a logie or anything, get off the stage!" I'll end it here. But thanks to everyone, I truly do appreciate it.

The time's edging closer and closer to 6.30 and I'm getting a bit freaked out now, haha. here's the spoilers and pics for tonight's series return.

~ Toadie lies wounded as Steph subdues Guy until the police arrive. He's rushed to hospital where he experiences two vivid dreams on the operating table. In the first, Toadie's guilty conscience berates him for trying to steal Max's family. In the other, a vision of Steph urges him to fight for his life. Toadie pulls through but his trials are far from over: a bullet fragment is lodged dangerously close to his spinal cord and he faces the very real prospect of being paralysed. All the while Steph keeps vigil and in a poignant moment, professes her love to Toadie.

~ Rosie finds herself unable to resist Paul's advances and the pair make out passionately on her desk. But the spell's broken when Frazer interrupts, intent on explaining his earlier rejection. Waking up to herself, she sends frustrated Paul packing and confides in Pepper: she knows Paul's bad news but she can't shake the wild feelings of desire for him. Armed with this info, cupid Pepper tries knocking sense into Frazer: if he doesn't smarten up his act he's going to lose Rosie to Paul. Frazer apologises to Rosie for running away but admits he knows Rosie's inexperienced and just didn't want to take advantage of her. Rosie's left totally flummoxed. Which man will she choose?

~ Katya, Karl and Zeke each wrestle with their demons in the wake of the siege: Katya feels guilty for bringing Guy on to the street, Zeke blames himself for getting Toadie shot, and Karl, having left Boyd to help stricken Toadie, comes to terms with the fact that he isn’t a doctor anymore.

~ In order to avoid prison Katya has to inform on her former criminal associates. Fearing she is again putting her family at risk she skips bail and runs away. Distressed Zeke is determined to find her and enlists Bree to help him search.

~ Surgeons leave Toadie with a bullet fragment lodged delicately in his back: a ticking time bomb that could cause serious damage in the future without any warning. Steph waits anxiously as Toadie recovers from the operation. After the trauma of the siege, she admits to Susan that Toadie is more than a friend; she loves him. Convinced Max is gone for good, she takes off her wedding ring. When Toadie comes round he's unsure; still haunted by his dreams. But Steph insists, she loves Toadie and all she wants is for him to be well and be with her.

~ Boyd overhears Steph's declaration of love but disguises his hurt and offers his blessing. Meanwhile Janae discovers the card from Glenn to Boyd and challenges him. Boyd denies any wrongdoing and dares Janae to call Glenn for confirmation. Janae calls his bluff and warns her rival to stay away from her husband. Boyd in turn rings Glenn to apologise and is pulled even further into Glenn's orbit.

What are your thoughts on the first Neighbours episode for 2007?

Like the new credits, which everyone looks so much older. (Bit sad though how Nat Blair and Nicky Whelan are all alone. They could have at least paired them up together I reckon.) The first episode for '07 (what scenes/storylines we saw tonight), the storylines so far, etc...(I can't think of anything else, lol)

I think the new credits are good, notice how Christian Clark's gone, yet Will doesn't leave our screen until next month. Is it just me, or did the episode seem brighter? Lol, maybe it was just me and since I've missed it so much. I reckon the very first scene, with the ambulance and paramedics and the flashing lights, to me it made it seem more 2007?? I don't know, its hard to explain, but it made it look more 2007, than 2006, even though it was still christmas.

Yeah that's what I mean! The relationships need to work out. And there should be heaps of UST (unresolved sexual tention) before they actually get together.

Oooh I can totally help you in Further Maths. I got a study score of 40 last year (and I would have got higher if I didn't stuff up the exam by missing an entire page because I didn't realise it was there. Make sure you don't miss any pages!

Oooh and a way to not miss Neighbours: Ok this might sound really sad but I actually set my watch alarm to beep at 6:27pm so that I have 3 minutes to get ready for Neighbours. It sounds sad but it works.


Aren't some of the pictures in the credits the same as last year? I think it's very similar, especially with the cartoon background thing. I was hoping for something completely different. Not enough of a change for a new season.

I have to admit, I really liked the fake 'engagement' with Pepper and Frazer, how it was a "no strings relationship". All that kookyness and secrecy of hiding their false engagement from Officer Steiger and all that. It was just fun to watch with the added twist of Zeke and his infatuation with Pepper. I really enjoyed that storyline.

Oh and I found a recent pic of Jay Bunyan Ryan. Anyone remember him? He played Jack Scully. He's still pretty cute, but I love Ben Lawson and Nicky Whelan now.

Nah with the UST thing, sorta like the characters like each other but they wont admit it and it's all really cute and innocent. And maybe they don't get together due to standards that one character might have but then they eventually see that even though the other characters isn't perfect, the other character is still really sweet and romantic and stuff.

Ok that made no sense. Just think Leela and Fry from Futurama. Fry loves Leela but Leela wont go out with Fry because she wants someone who's important and has ambition and stuff. But then Fry does all this romantic stuff for her like saving her life and proves he really cares for her so in the end, Leela sorta comes around and by the end, it's implied they are together.

UST is always a must. I loved Stingray/Rachel. Was the perfect behind-everyone's-back, overcoming age difference, overcoming Stingers' drinking, true love-ish kind of this. They definitely had the on-screen chemistry thing happening, which is exactly what the audience wants. And they are young, no-one likes the old-people-pashes that seem to be happening a lot more on Neighbours now. The only bad thing was that they split up - stupid writers. The main thing is that eventually they are together.

Yeah I was a bit dissapointed with the credits, I thought it would be cool if they were completely different for a new season. And I think it's really stupid when people are on their own, they seriously look like loser characters even though they aren't. And Bree did actually look normal and un-goth i was like "ooh maybe she's finally gonna be normal again!" she's actually quite pretty with natural looking hair - that goth look was pretty rank.

Some nights I set my alarm but most nights I watch the Simpsons beforehand so it's hard to miss Neighbours.


You aren't an idiot and, to me, that made perfect sense. We are totally on the same wave length. That is exactly what I mean about Stingray/Rachel. They were the perfect Shippy UST couple. And then they split up. Which ruined everything.

You know the concept we're talking about did actually kinda work well with Karl and Susan. Ok, we don't really want to see them kissing but there was the whole split thing and having different partners and Susan getting remarried and the whole time still both of them were secretly liking each other but not being together and the audience knowing of them as the perfect couple and just waiting and waiting for ages for them to get together again and when they finally did, it was a relief.

Now if only they can do that with a young couple that we like to see kiss each other, it would be great.

And with Bree in the opening, her hair is lighter! It's like dark brown. And she looks really really pretty! I hope this is a sign that we soon may see the end of gothic Bree.

You're right about Karl and Susan. But they're old. The audience needs fresh, young shippers to get into. Karl and Susan have been on the show forever and now that they are back together, the audience is over them. They were good and shippy while they lasted - but old people pashing is so not cool.

I also hope this is the end of Gothic Bree. Who wasn't cool.

I made a mistake with the credits, Nat Blair isn't all alone, she can be seen with Dan O'Connor and someone else (I've forgotten who) at the very start. Its only Nicky Whelan who is all alone. Aww, but no doubt by the week of the 24th (last full week of Jan) the credits would've changed coz off the additions of Adelaide Kane and Sam Clark.

~ Having followed Max, Elle shares her shocking discovery with Janae. Janae insists on seeing the situation for herself and the girls spy on Max who seems to have found true happiness with his new family. Stunned Janae wonders if perhaps Max has led a double life for years and swears Elle to secrecy. Steph and Boyd can never know.

~ Janelle is livid when she learns Paul plans to sack Ned. Paul informs Janelle that it's just business but she disagrees: when Paul broke her best friend Lynnie's heart he made things personal! To their horror, Paul wins mysterious Mr 2%'s vote at the board meeting and Ned is fired. Dylan talks to his former mentor to try to prevent an all-out war but Paul vows to see the Timminses back in the caravan park by the end of the year. Dylan fears Paul is unbeatable but Janelle and Bree remind him that this is only round one.

~ Pepper struggles to accept her mother's relationship with a woman and is coldly cruel to Chris, leading loyal employee Janae to step in and deliver Pepper a few home truths. Steiger advises Pepper to cut her mother some slack but when Pepper reacts like a spoilt brat, Steiger surprises his little princess by taking an unusually tough stance.

~ Although Pepper does her best to stop Ned feeling like 'The Biggest Loser', Paul has well and truly crushed his spirit. The unemployed personal trainer decides it's time for a major career change.

~ Janelle turns to illegal activity to catch Steiger's eye!

Well it isn't on here for a couple of hours so I'm safe.

An hour and ten minutes for poor old rejected Perth.

Yeah I was still on here when it started. Then I rushed outside to the living room to turn on the tv to Channel Ten, and I couldn't find the remote, arghh. Then I finally found it, then I just shoved a random tape in the VCR and pressed 'record'. When I rewinded it and watched what I had recorded, the taped stuffed up and for about the first 10 minutes of the ep is stuffed up.

And just to clarify, when I wrote "My bum is rock hard" I wasn't referring to me. Obviously as you probably would've found out when you watched the ep, Pepper was the one who said it.

I don't really see a point to posting the pics up but here are the pics for tonight's episode which I didn't have time to post up before because I was rushing sooo badly.

Ooohh!!!! That end bit preview for tomorrow's episode looks really good, lol. Pepper drops what looks like a red evelope or something, and she bends down and like Paul is watching her. Then like she says that whole "no strings attached" offer, and smiles flirtatiously at Paul. Its gonna one heck of a storyline tomorrow between Paul and Pepper, trying to seduce him and it backfires when she falls for his charm.

I'll post the spoilers up for tomorrow's ep tomorrow early I hope, before the simpsons start or something and I'll be recording tomorrow's ep too. I wonder if Paul will kiss Pepper (or more), as like, a bit of a side-dish to Rosie?? Hmm, maybe. What's everyone else think of this situation?

OMG yes! It is like the Rosie-Paul-Frazer thing! Frazer is the 'Fry' for Rosie 'Leela' and Paul is like 'Zapp Brannigan' or something. Frazer and Rosie should be together and Paul is the jerk the Rosie stupidly falls for.

~ Pepper suggests that in order for Rosie to choose between Paul and Frazer she should try before she buys. Rosie formally states she will date them both over the coming weeks and then make an informed decision. Egos flare and both men accept: game on.

~ Will's incensed when he learns Paul used his 2% Lassiter's vote to sack Ned. Paul responds by threatening to blow 'Sebastian's' secret. Will calls his bluff, insisting that if he loses Carmella, Paul will lose Rosie.

~ In an effort to help Rosie's love life dilemma, Pepper attempts to expose Paul as a philanderer*. However, her seduction plans go awry and she's swept away by Paul's charm herself.

~ Sky lies about her single mum status to secure a job at a hot graphic design firm. Susan's quietly concerned that Harold seems happy to take on extra carer duties by looking after Kerry.

~ Susan admits to Harold that she may be breaking the law by not reporting Katya's disappearance but wonders what other choice she has.

~ Sky decides she needs a fake boyfriend for a staff function. Stingray gets the job but only after his 'gangsta chic' makeover is given the boot.

* Remember philanderer means '(of a man) to make love with a woman one cannot or will not marry; carry on flirtations' people.

And I have to admit, I totally forgot about Will! Well Christian's left already and we don't see him anymore in the credits, so...lol. Its logical. And I'll be taping tonight's awesome ep tonight.
