Hey guys,

There was a two-page article in today's The Advertiser on pages 18-19 regarding when many of the big-name shows and new shows will be starting. So I thought I'd compile a list from that article of when the shows would be returning so you know when to expect your fave show to be back on our screens, or to try that new show you've heard so much about smile.gif It also includes a few which aren't included in the article, but which I know for a fact are beginning in their timeslots smile.gif

Obviously this isn't all of them, but those which most people would be interested in and that have been confirmed atm, or those that I can think of wink2.gif Some timeslots weren't included in the article; either they just weren't included or they haven't been made known yet. This involves mostly Channel 9 or Channel 10 shows. While most will probably stay in the timeslots they were in last season presumably, I still didn't put a timeslot for those just because they haven't been confirmed yet. The list is compiled in chronological order.

Theres quite a few shows there I'm lookin' forward to. some, not so much.

e.g Prison Break, The Biggest Loser, Law & Order, House, Close To Home, Counting Alex, Friday Night Games, and Commander in Chief.

I'm already up to date with new seasons of Lost, Desperate Housewives and The OC ( The oc this year is so damn boring i find myself skipping through it though last year was great)

I hope to see One Tree Hill picked up by another Channel, 10 aint giving it the time of day.

thanks for those Kirk. I've been wondering when DHWs would be back.
innocenteyes85
Yeah I saw that article today! I think most of the channel 7 and 9 shows will return/commence after the Winter Olympics and Commenwealth Games respectively. Blue Heelers however, won't return till mid year..probably so it will have its (hopefully) big finale when the ratings period finishes.
forbidden-fruit
Cold Case is returning soon too, but I have no idea what time slot its in (February). Does anyone know when Greys Anatomy graces our screens yet again? happy.gif

Wednesday, February 8

It's interesting to know that ER has finally surrendered the Thursday 8.30pm timeslot. Seven had dominated the timeslot throughout the 1980s and early 1990s with its lineup of comedies (e.g. Fast Forward). Then ER began on Nine in 1993 and claimed the timeslot immediately, beating so many opposition in the next 11 years and became one of Nine's highest ratings programs throughout the period, until Lost came about.

thanks Johnson.

One more item about the primetime lineup:
The XX Winter Olympics from Turin (Torino), Italy starts Friday week (February 10), with the opening ceremony to be shown live early Saturday morning on Channel Seven. The last two Winter Olympics had brought mixed results to the network: live primetime coverage of the 1998 event from Nagano, Japan, was thrashed by Nine and Ten, but the 2002 Salt Lake City Games on replay was a great success, despite a massive time difference between the host city and Australia.
For the first time in 12 years, the Winter Olympics will be shown at night with a mixture of live coverage and replays from the previous day of competition. This year however will be a scheduling nightmare for Seven: not only it falls on the start of the ratings season, it also coincides with the Switzerland-Australia clash in the Davis Cup tennis (also on Seven).
I believe that Seven will continue to show its usual lineup of programs (Home And Away, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, Lost etc.) throughout the 16 days of the Olympics (February 11 to February 26) before beginning its satellite telecast at 9.30pm. But, since Australia has five time zones at the moment, WA viewers will be the worst hit as they will lose up to 3 hours of coverage per day during the Olympics (this will be partly compensated by replays on the following day). And it is almost certain that the closing ceremony replay will be shown on February 27 at 9.40pm, after Desperate Housewives.

Thanks for those extra dates Johnson smile.gif
