Just wondered whats going on with Nina in Neighbours at the moment in Aus. Obviously Delta isn't going to be able to film anything else for ages and I guess the show is recorded not long before it is aired so what do people think will happen to Nina? Is it possible she could just disapeer. perhaps for good? After all, I very much doubt that Delta will be able to continue to doing singing and Neighbours after her treatment, it will be too much.

Any idea?

It is recorded about 2 months in advance before it is aired in Oz... however since Delta isn't long back from UK she hasn't filmed a ton of stuff so it may be easier to write her out and for her agent to say she is away in promo tour in US.

her contract finishes in march (thats what the paper's once said) and i think someone will take over delta and play nina tucker untill she is well enough to come back...unless nina is absent on the show for a few months, who knows whats happening but we should know sooner or later.

Role Kept open
THERE is no official word from Neighbours yet but it's likely that scriptwriters will write around Delta Goodrem's short-term absence rather than replace her.
Goodrem, who plays Nina Tucker on the show, will be absent while she is treated for a form of cancer.
Producers are currently working on a solution to her absence.
Manager Glenn Wheatley said it would be difficult but the crew had been very understanding.
"They have to bring in extra writers to cope with an emergency like this, but everyone will and so will she."

Thanks for that.
Very interesting......

yeh.. thanks..

wouldnt it be weird it they replaced her..?

I would hate to see a replacement.

Well since EVERYTHING is on hold, Neighbours will be affected but they should fit in a storyline to write her out.

Simon.

thanks for that. i read that her contract finishes in march.

Yeah.... Hm...... I don't think they will bring in a replacement, because she is also well know as a singer as well it would seem to quite a lot of the viewers strange.... I think they may just write her out for a while at least... Maybe she will go visit someone somewhere.
Hannah_N
i'd hate it if they brought in a replacement!! I think we should all still watch Neighbours, the show still needs viewers and i dont think Delta would want us all to stop watching it!!

She said that she'll be back singing and acting just as soon as her treatment is over. But I think we'll just have to wait it out and see what happens...

I doubt there's gonna be a replacement...Most likely they're just going to have her mother or someone come in and say she's had to go away on a family emergency or something.

I've just read that they arn't going to have a replacement!

yay!

but i do hope that delta returns to neighbours because although i love her music to bits and i want her to return to england and pursue her other dreams, i'd love her to stay on neighbours, it wouldnt be the same without her, infact i think thats the only reason i watch it so what will i do

but then at the end of the day what is most important is that delta is happy and doing what she loves to do whether that means returning to neighbours soon or moving on
