Hey guys,

Well there was no topic on this so I thought I better start one.

I'm interested in opinions on the performances, as well as the winner's single Maybe Tonight.

Personally I think Emily wiped the floor with Kate tonight. Most people I imagine would have known Emotions and so many would have known Since U Been Gone especially with Kelly recently touring here - wise choice. I think while she's done better jobs than both, she still performed well. It was obvious to me however she was using almost exactly the same ad libs as Destiny's Child in their version of Emotion but meh. True, SUBG wasn't her best vocal, but at least it provided some fun and was upbeat.

Kate I thought was average. Her first non-single song Shackles (Praise You) I thought lacked actual connection with the lyrics and she had a weird ad lib at the crucial moment which meant the audience didn't rise with her at the crucial time. Then she sang a song which I can't even remember the name of, it was just a really bad song choice. I reckon a lot of people in the audience and at home were scratching their heads because it was a strange song choice. She sang it well though.

I thought with the winner's single, bad choice for a winner's single but an okay song overall, hopefully it will grow on me. I think Emily showed what a great entertainer she is, she turned that song into something I could actually listen to. Kate didn't show any of that to me I'm sad to say.

I really do like both Kate and Emily even though I know this review sounds one-sided. Just to me, tonight proved it loud and clear who deserves to win more... although to be fair, maybe Emily deserves to come second more, after all they usually have the bigger careers

But usually they repeat Aus Idol on channel 10 at noon on Mondays so hopefully I can watch that one

wow!! i didnt no idol gets repeated the day after awesome!! Well i really want Kate to win! She has worked her BUTT off for this!! but either way i think they will both do very well outta it!!

GO KATE! cmon guys get behind her!! this means everything to her!! Emily will be like an anthony callea and will succeed even if she dsnt win.. so support K8!!

I didn't know the 2nd song by Toni Braxton so I didn't like it. But she did Shackles good. And the winners song, I liked her voice to it, it just felt so smooth and like soothing.

Emily ahg, I dunno with SUBG she could have moved, jumped did something with it. She sang "I see you now I get what I want" Instead of "Thanks to you now I get what I want" THAT WAS ANNOYING!!!! Emotions sucked to me... :S But I prefered Emily's version of the winning single

To be honest with you i really didn't like Emily's perforamances of the songs she chose as other people have said in Emotions it did sound a bit like what Destiny's Child did with that song and they did it better emily could have done it better but for me she didn't and With Emily doing Kelly's song she didn't do any justice singing that one as i think that was a bad song choice for her as Kelly's song would have been better sung by Kate as Kelly and Kate have similar voices what do you guys think? Well that's my opinion to last nights performance and if i have upset some people with what i have just said i am sorry so please forgive me! I was just gving you all my opinion on it all and i hope KATE wins, SO GO KATE

I thought they both did extrememly well last night!
I'm actually not that fussed about who wins tonight because either way whoever wins I'll be happy. They're both really talented I think that they've been the best final 2 so far!

I really despised Emily's version of SUBG! It was YUCK!!! I have a friend who sang it, with a really bad cold, and did it ten times better!! It just really didn't take my fancy. I though KAte did brilliantly at shackles. But in previous weeks, Emily has some incredible highs!! Its a toughy to pick who i'd want to win!

Emily should win. Because even if her first album is going to be crap (every Idol winner has crap 1st albums), at least her voice will make it good enough to be worthy of a listen. Emily has the best voice and she is just simply amazing. Kate is good too but she's only a star on the horizon, Emily is already a star. But you know, they're both winners now anyway since both of them are going to release an album. I mean, if Ricki-Lee was able to release an album... lol
