Hey i was jus wondering if anybody here is gonna watch Mary Bryant? thats on channel 10 at 8.30pm on Sunday night and it concludes Monday night again at 8.30pm. To tell u's the truth, i prob might actually end up watching it.....more so to do with the fact of channel 10 playing Tina Cousins' song, Wonderful Life over the ad.

Kinda hard to explain, but in a nutshell ive got a music mood swing. And it also kinda might be that im listening to Deltz' Electric Storm now...

Anyway, it actually looks kinda good. An interesting telemovie to watch, and a lil piece of aussie history. So is anybody else gonna watch it? Or is thinking of watching it?

I agree that the music that they use in the ad is enticing and it does look like an in interesting Aussie story so I may watch it.

I'm gonna watch it. I loved studying what happened to the convicts etc so I'm sure I'll like it. (studied last year) We got to watch channel 9's 'For the Term of His Natural Life' at school (it was on tv ages ago) and I really liked that. That was coming from a male prospective though. It will be interesting to see how the women coped with it. Rather than just reading what happens to them..

I dont really get the bit where Mary's pregnant, and she gave birth....and yeah? Who's the father of her child?? Anyway, i'll post tomoz and tell u's how pt. 1 of it was.

OMG!! OMG!!! Another ad break but, Mary got married to Will in this weird marriage way, which i didnt understand.

But what happened in the scene before this ad break WAS so horrible!! Will and Mary went away somewhere away from the others right, and they... commited to one another Then like later on they were sleeping, when 2 men came and like tried to umm....have their way with Mary - Im trying to put that in the nicest possible way that so can u can understand. And they pushed Will aside, bujt he broke a branch off a tree and scared them away.

Then back were the other people were, it was just really horrible! There were women screaming everywhere and the men were like......um, having their way with them - it was sooo horrible! A really horrific sight to watch. They when Mary & Will returned back to them, like the next morning all the women were all seriously injuried (sp ) and bashed up and everything.

Seriously, its been good to watch so far...like with what happened and everything. But its sadly the unfortunate reality that the convicts faced back then. p.s Mary had another baby with Will. A baby boy.

Anyway back to Mary Bryant, it was excellent i must say! Even though i missed like half of it posting here. But I cant wait to watch the concludsion (sp? ) tomoz night. Its a great telemovie, with a brilliant cast! Truely a fantastic story of Mary and her husband Will and of their journey. Its really good.

Yup! Thats the one! conclusion i was thinking that i spelt it wrong, and i was trying to think how u spelt it properly.
Its really good! It goes for 4 hours in total over 2 nights - tonight which has just pasted, and tomoz night! its a brilliant movie that tells of how they lived and what they went through & everything like that. im jus repeating myself arent i?

Anyway i really urge everyone here to watch the conclusion tomoz night, even if u missed it tonight. Jus watch it tomoz night, coz its a great movie. And yeah. I dont wanna repeat myself here again, lol! Saying how great it is n' everything, even though i jus did!

I've really enjoyed it so far, despite the fact that historically it is very incorrect - although Mary Bryant was a true character, I don't know how much right they have to be calling this a 'true story' because so much of it is fabricated to fill the gaps int eh storyline


But if I see it as a piece of fiction, I'm enjoying it!

Really? Well, like i said, it is based on true events, so some of it might not be true... Im not too sure, but its a brilliant telemovie that channel 10's got, and seriously if it was to be released on DVD or sumfing, i would buy it without a doubt!
Though it is rated (M) so it might be a tad' too mature for the younger veiwers, lol! But its still awesome nonetheless.

I watched it last night, and I really enjoyed it.. I had to tape like half of it because my mum went to bed lol and shes watching it again right now and its up to that part with that terrible and horrific act that the men did.


I love watching Channel 10's mini-series they show! Soo much better than other stuff that is shown.

p.s for my 16th today i went out with some mates and we watched Into The Blue with Jessica Alba and Paul Walker in it. It was good! Except for the shark attack and i screamed a couple of times.

It was really gay that Mary Bryant had an Irish accent when she was supposed to be Cornish

^ Yeah, her accent was kinda weird i gotta admit. But hey? wat can u do about it?

OMG!! The conclusion wasnt as good as part 1, i admit. But it had a really dramatic ending! Big shock! They left Sam sumfing or rather whatever his surname is, on the beach and he got hung in the end, and Mary changed the direction of the boat so that it was heading out to sea, resulting in him getting captured and hung. And it was soo sad to see Will get shot to death by like 6 or 7 shotguns or revolvers (sp? ) or wahtever they're called, on the beach.

That stupid self-centred Lt. Clarke or whatever his stupid name is shot Will. And then, later on the journey when they captured Mary and the other 2 men - ive forgotten who they were - on the boat back to England, her children had caught tropical dieases (sp) and they had to umm, disposed? is that a reasonable word? Dump the like 5year old and Mary's baby boy out to sea.

Then towards the very end of the story/movie, Mary had a very qoutable (sp ) qoute. She said; "Courage took the one man I loved, and then it took my children. And it will finish us off." or sumfing along those lines, ive forgotten coz ive been trying remember it but i cant.

Anyway, channel 10 was right. It is such an 'incredible journey of Mary Bryant', and yes it was very well indeed. And sorry if i spoiled it for the UK, who wont see it until later this year, lol! Its a fantastic story. and sorry for the long post. =P

The long post is okay because I didn't get to see all of it - only bits of it so it was helpful to me.

All the mini-series channel 10 show are excellent! They are fantastic Aussie production waaay better than the soaps and movies imo lol
and they also in some ways educational.

i thought it was soooooooooooo good! i was crying in parts! when will died i was disappointed then when their children died i was upset aswell coz she had no one and the thing to remind her of Will (her baby) was now gone. But it was still amazing!
That Will Bryant is quite the hot one.... lol yeah it was awesome!

did anyone watch the last Australian mini series 'Jessica'.... i loved that movie...although i reallly enjoyed 'Mary Bryant' i liked 'Jessica' more

I taped the 1st night for mum, watched a bit of it, not much, seemed boring to me, seen a bit of it monday night.

i knider liked it i thought it was better than jessica but i still love jessica that is only because of oliver auckland anyway the movie was sad to see how the convicts where treated and how they went and raped all the women over night on the beach and how mary married will and it was kinda a good movie i found they got a good audience for how they got the guy or the governer interested in mary but in the end called her in i found it was sad how wil died trying to save his own life and i found it sad that mary had to wrap her children up in a blanket and throw them over board so they wouldn't swim away sop yeah it was a good movie i would rate it a 9 out of 10 and a 10 out of 10 for jessica

I LOVED Mary Bryant. I was bawling my eyes out when her husband died and when her kids died and when she was in the court making that amazing speech...

All these Australian mini series always make me cry. I'm so sensitive, haha. First one I saw that affected me was Jessica. Then it was Through My Eyes, which was the one about Lindy Chamberlain that was played by Miranda Otto (my main reason for watching is because I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and was a fan of Miranda's, who was in Lord of the Rings). Now Mary Bryant.

All amazing stories and bloody incredible mini series. And all friggin' emotional too. Can't wait for the next one as well.
