u know at the end of the phantom of the opera (the movie) when "old man raoul" goes to the grave with the phantom's monkey toy thing and there's a rose on the grave stone, what does it all mean?

i have a few theories but i was wondering if anyone on the forum knew exactly what the film makers were tryin to say... whistling.gif

please reply with your own theories aswell! smile.gif

It was phantome's(the phantom) way of telling Raoul that he was still alive.

Im the POTO's number one fan tongue.gif

I think it was a way of showing that Erik will always beat Raoul when it comes to Christine.

yeah wasn't it just symbol, not only to show Raoul that he still loved her, but just to show her that he always still loved and cared for her, like despite the fact that she was dead, it was her grave and it was out of love and respect to her aswell. if that made sense! huh.gif hmm would be interestin to call SIR Andrew Lloyd Webber!!! very interesting....

Raoul was surprised to find the rose so it was the Phantom.
Love&Light
leaving the monkey music box was a way of raoul accepting that the phantom was always a part of her life.
The rose left by the phantom was just a sign that the phantom was always around and cared for her still.
That's how I interpreted it anyways
